I’m Maria Alejandra Gordillo, founder and lead designer of MAG Interior Design, an Ottawa-based studio dedicated to creating timeless, modern interiors that balance beauty, function, and soul.
With a BA in Psychology, a BAA in Interior Design, and an NCIDQ candidate, I approach each project with a blend of technical precision, passion and emotional understanding. This foundation allows me to design spaces that not only look refined but also feel deeply personal and intuitively functional.
Since founding MAG in 2018, after several years in the construction and design industry, I’ve had the privilege of helping homeowners transform their spaces into reflections of who they are. Committed to continuous growth and excellence, I’m expanding my expertise to ensure each MAG project meets the highest level of professionalism, comfort, and timeless beauty.

- Discovery Call: We begin with a conversation to understand your goals, lifestyle, design aspirations and see if we are a good fit.
- Initial Consultation: We visit your space (or meet virtually) to assess functionality, explore ideas, take measurements if applicable, and define your project’s direction.
- Design Development: We craft a cohesive concept through space planning layouts, material selections and finishes that reflect your vision.
- Implementation: We coordinate every design detail with our trusted contractors, reliable trades and valued suppliers, from sourcing to installation to ensure precision and seamless delivery.
- Final Reveal: The final unveiling, where your transformed space comes to life – thoughtful, balanced, and distinctly yours.

BEYOND DESIGN
When I’m not immersed in layouts and colour palettes, you’ll find me surrounded by the people and places that inspire me most: family, friends, art and travel. I draw constant inspiration from the world around me, finding beauty in quiet details and meaningful moments.
At MAG, we believe that design extends beyond the walls of a home. It’s about how we live, what we value, and the feeling we carry within our spaces. Whether I’m exploring a new city, savouring great food, or dancing to the rhythm of my Latin roots, I’m always observing how environments shape emotion and experience.
